Again, I understand leading with dramatic images from the subways sells the news, but the subways did pretty good. We had 2.7 inches of rain in an hour, the 2nd heaviest volume in recorded history, and the only subway disruptions were to the IRT lines. NYC badly needs storm drain capacity upgrades.
