Should have switched the purchase order of these - bought Ministry of Time which was not my thing and I borrowed Man Called Ove from the library which I adored. One took 4 hours to read stretched over 12 days. The other took 4.5 hours to read starting at 4p today.

It's such a drag reading something that you're not particularly fond of but want to know what happens. Like I can't skim because then I'll prob miss something important and relevant to what happens later, but why do I have to only be halfway through?

I don't think this one is my jam. It is set in a cool world, but 4 POVs means that a lot of worldbuilding gets lost in moving the plot along. I think it might have benefitted from being turned into two books so that we can sit with the characters and world more, and the ending feels a bit abrupt.

I don't know how easy or not it would be to do this, but I'd be fascinated to see an energy consumption comparison between a week when I'm on vacation v. a week when my husband's on vacation.
