There are only 2 ways to keep the Hormuz Strait open: (1) Convince the Iranian regime to leave it open. (2) Put in ground forces on the north/Iranian side of the Strait and hold that territory. And option (2) might not fully work.

Medvedev is a wild man but he's right that a polity that's been around for 2600 years is likely to outperform on the battlefield against one that's only 249 years old and based 8000 miles away.

The only thing I'll say about all the "Abundance" stuff is it's a weird framing to use in a country that *already leads the world in generating abundance*. It would be like a Russian intellectual saying "What we really need is to invest in oil/gas and munitions!"

Just to clear things up for the pundits out there: Yarvin is not a "monarchist". What he advocates for is dictatorship, not monarchy.

Taking my first ride at PATCO's new (old) Franklin Square station. They did a nice job on the entry portal.

As someone whose career was radically derailed in 2008, I'm not amused by someone crashing the US economy.

I think people are still underestimating the likelihood that he just sticks with it. It'll be the ultimate demonstration of his power.

In any modern parliamentary system there would be a vote of No Confidence by Monday and Trump would be removed.

France’s institutions defended its democracy, upholding the law. South Korea’s institutions defended its democracy, upholding the law. Brazil’s institutions defended its democracy, upholding the law. Only America’s decided a criminal must be allowed to break its laws and destroy its democracy.
