2. I was cycling into town, downhill, when I hit a pothole, one of many that the local authority cannot afford to fix. A common enough story! The front wheel folded up like an infinity sign. I went over the handblebars and landed on my face (luckily I was wearing my helmet).

For a large proportion of the Northern Irish population being required to have a document which identifies you as a UK citizen is impossible. So you need a compatible Irish ID card system. Which means you need the Irish govt to introduce one. And share the info. And that's not going to happen.
