Today is the birthday of writer & artist Russ Manning (Jan. 5, 1929-Dec. 1, 1981). He is most remembered for creating Magnus, Robot Fighter, and his work on the Tarzan comic book and newspaper strip, as well as the Star Wars newspaper strip.

It is Christmas Eve and at the Fortress of Solitude Superman discovers that the Toyman has gifted booby trapped toys to kids across the country. Santa Claus volunteers to help a weakened Superman defeat Toyman and replace all the fake toys before Christmas morning comes.

It is Christmas Eve and Gotham City is gripped by fear. Random citizens are turning into killers; they don masks and start murder sprees for no apparent reason. Tim Drake attempts to solve the case on his own to prove to himself and The Batman that he is worthy to wear the Robin costume.

It is almost Christmas and Batman is shaken by mob records that reveal Thomas Wayne bankrolled a criminal enterprise years before. Helena Wayne, who is visiting from Earth-2, reminds "Uncle Bruce" that he is a detective and it is his duty to uncover the truth behind the payments.

On Christmas Eve 2979 A.D., Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes go searching for the Star of Bethlehem. In its stead they find two things; a small planet in dire need of their help and the spirit of caring. ...and the Legion girls never looked as beautiful as drawn by Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez.

It is Christmas Eve and Bash Bashford sulks due to his lack of Christmas Spirit. Superboy decides to show Bash a world without Christmas spirit. He inadvertently whisks Bash to a violent, polluted, parallel world where anyone who practices peace and generosity is persecuted. Plus Dial H for Hero.
