This is a rough time of year for Marj & me; memories of son Michael's initial seizures, diagnosis for brain cancer, his death the following year. The memories aren't anything we excavate: the very cells of our being remember, and remind us.

Still my personal favorite out of all the Gillman sketch art I've done over the decades. This ended up as a tattoo on the collector/fan's back—and he was a BIG guy, I tell ya!

Our son Danny & I had some fun years ago working this comic up, originally for the AccentUK anthology ZOMBIES. Later worked with Chuck Forsman to reformat & color it as this nifty poster, which we sold out of. I still love this collaboration.

NEW WORK: writing a new text essay for the forthcoming 2026 STEPHEN KING CATALOG 2026 ANNUAL, with about 4 other text pieces due to other clients around the same time. A very, very busy spring for me, thus far, as a writer, with new work in print every month thus far.

My longtime amigo Tim Lucas & I recorded not one but 2 brand-new video bonus features for 2 different clients/movies (1 in the US, 1 in the UK). Titles TBA. Tim & I have done a fair number of these together now, & we love doing 'em. We hope some of you out there dig listening to/watching 'em, too!

Really glad I have a full run of the late, great Bill Schelly's biographies of comics pros and fanzine-retrospectives. Even if he did erroneously state, in his Joe Kubert bio MAN OF ROCK, that I was born in Dover, NJ. Which was so, so, so wrong, on so so so many levels—& yes, I let Bill know!

I recall reading this underwhelming comic book in my school pal Jeff Parker's room upstairs at the Parker household in Duxbury. There were some comics where one reading, one time only, was more than sufficient, and this... was one of 'em.

One of my least-favorite cover jobs, for the Heap featured in NEW WAVE #8 (Eclipse Comics). "Two roughs don't make a right," I used to say.

Meanwhile, in Pal-Ul-Don... Assignment for the Joe Kubert School, 1977; early (undisciplined) used of DuoShade board for the assignment. Joe laughed aloud at this one, I'm happy to say!

My stash o' WaPs still in the collection. I was a contributor, too: essays & editorial cartoons.

My Dad kept these kinds of magazines in his bottom dresser drawer. Forbidden fruit I'd sample when home alone.
