Often when I'm doing session zeros, iantead of a long backstory what I'll ask for is akin to Name, Family, Fears, Goals in a short paragraph or so. Having an inherent goal that I can use and design in mind with really makes setting hooks alot easier

VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN SHOULD'VE BEEN ON BATTLE BOTS: Get a stack of magazines and scissors; each player has 5 minutes to cut out and collage their ideal Frankenstein's Monster from whatever is inside. Stat blocks can only use text from the magazines, then arguing round robin who would win.

As you read these amusing replies, notice that scads of them are larps. Wickedly short, emotionally affecting, played with real bodies. Larp design can be very accessible. First time larp designers have premiered scenarios at our festival each year. Remember for our 2026 theme drop next month!

Because I have had to explain it a lot already, but more so in the last month... If you have a #ZineMonth project set up. USPS mail is really resistant to sending zines as letter mail (especially in a rigid mailer). If your zine is more 2.6oz you should anticipate sending it media or parcel. 1/2

A lot of the indie sphere has an oral history of learning and teaching games(and design), so this is one of the major attempts at recording it in a different medium. None of this is new to me, but it will be to someone.
