The only downside I’ve seen: gift copies of digital games cost you money. They still take a 5% commission on paid digital assets that are dropped down to free via discount code. This makes community copies essentially…. Not work

Thinking of writing a duet mode for Boundless Tides. This could also serve as a core duet mechanic for anyone making their own boundless games.

Game designers should be designing mechanics that don’t just match the theme of their games but also automatically rewards the right behaviors to create the gameplay loop that they want.

This is one of the best thing I love about the Boundless system. Many systems give you resources and you gain them back when you rest. In Boundless games, failing means the game gives you a breath of fresh air, refills some of your stats and prompts you to get off your ass and finish the fight.
