I'm using Obsidian Canvas' and Base's for the first time to this extent and its very nice. I can create and write all the details for Skills in the spreadsheet style Base, then lay them out and visualize the connections in the Canvas using the same linked file. (This is just Sorcerer stuff so far)

Ok, so after some brainstorming and writing I think I’m gonna end up with a core tree - still similar to a Diablo 2 style of play - but with some mechanics that work kinda like functions from Transistor. But maybe I’ll get it to the table and @scenefour.bsky.social will be like MORE TRANSISTOR!

The biggest place indies struggle is in discoverability. Not only are the platforms that we use somewhat insular, but the games also often lean into jargon and complex theory. The indie space is a nightmare to find and a nightmare to learn about. I think that’s its biggest weakness.

Interesting thought from an architecture book: Floor plans are great for conveying organization, flow, and arrangement, but sections or "cross-sections" are better for conveying space, scale, and feel. This is why I think many Mausritter maps benefit from being sections, and OSE maps floor plans.
