Yesterday I learned that MS Teams throttles screen-sharing to ~3fps. To override that, you have to know to press an obscure and inscrutably-labelled button, every time. I very nearly gave a crucial online presentation, full of beating hearts, at 3fps without even realising. Stuff of nightmares.

It was a pleasure to co-host (with Dr Hasan Abbas) Sahil Sharma, who visited for a year from IIT Delhi on a Commonwealth Scholarship, to work on SIM and photothermal imaging at mid-infrared wavelengths. Sahil was a fast learner in experimental optics, and made great progress on an ambitious project!
