I have once worked with single digit femtosecond (1e-15s) laser pulses. So how short is a femtosecond? We can use the identity “time is money”. Assuming the entire U.S. debt of $3.89 e13 equals to one second, then one femtosecond would be ~4 cents! In 2008, a femtosecond was only 1 cent.

We have two funded postdoctoral positions available. Topics encompass: -Next gen light-sheet fluorescence microscopy instrumentation -Structured illumination microscopy and other approaches to extend the resolution limit. -Nonlinear microscopy combined with adaptive optics / phase conjugation

We started the farewelk proceedings for @bingyingchen.bsky.social which included a climbing outing (Bingying is an expert climber). That was a lot of fun. I was toast after climbing three bunny walls (Figure 1). Bingying showed us some “free solo” level climbs. Impressive.
