A milestone worth reflecting on - 1000 citations for our cleared tissue light sheet paper - the COLM. Gratifying that core ideas have stood the test of time and are broadly adopted: Cuvette-based sample mounting; Virtual slit effect with rolling shutter CMOS; and Linear adaptive offset correction!

Love this!! I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like this before -- high-res light sheet microscopes designated for use by individual researchers in one lab!! Fantastic to see real-world impact emerging, starting with Bianca’s lab at JLG, Columbia!

have ppl found any funders that support toolmaking? I want to keep making tools for people, but there is a seemingly irresistible force pushing us towards hypothesis-driven research. In my experience, funders don't want to hear about tech dev. Any insights? for both neuro & climate would be great tx
