Honestly, Polanski's strategy of actively drawing attention to how much all of the most venal, morally bankrupt assholes of the universally reviled British media class hate him, and how utterly disdainful he is of them in return is a) excellent political maneuvering, and b) extremely funny.

Bus deregulation was inflicted on the public with no democratic input or oversight, wrecking rural services and adding pointless complexity. Fares went up, ridership went down. Even putting all that to one side, the whole proposition very plainly makes no sense.
