A couple of my favorite spreads (semi-spreads?) from Miss Truesdale and the Rise of Man Issue 1. The first follows Yassa as she wanders her new world and also her lives to come. The second has that evil snake showing the forest guy what’s to come if Yassa lives. Issue 2 hits shops January 21st.

Jack Kirby was made for newsprint. Yet I suspect Joe Sinnott cried every time a new issue was published.

The murder of Renee Good by ICE is an atrocity that must face justice. Thankfully, accurate and clear video footage shows that this was a cold-blooded murder. This iteration of the print pays homage to that.

Fear Itself by Fraction, Immonen, Von Grawbadger. Not well thought of I think. I enjoyed it well enough. In b&w you can see that Immonen really nailed every page.

Looking at Weapon X by BWS in big, French black and white. Takes on another character. Your attention is drawn different than with his crazy fantastic colours on top.

Today's Comic! Lansdale & Truman revitalized Jonah Hex in the '90s, adding an extra dose of weird to the Western. More slept on is when they did the same for these two fine fellers. Fantastic blend of increased historical accuracy with an infusion of alien mummies. What's not to dig?

Vertical Books did these lovely looking collections of Tezuka's Blackjack. Catch was, they included an extra stary in the HC version. This triggered my completist brain to reject the series as I didn't want the HCs nor a collection missing a load of stories

Look at Wrightson’s inks on Adams. Lush!!

The different textures Adams gets from different tools. The Joe Kubert looking brushes on Enemy Ace, the soft textures on the goon in the second image, and the impressionistic mark making on the hair. There’s more Impressionism in Adams’s work than gets talked about. It’s always the “realism”

This Deadman stuff by Adams is just incredible. Do I need all comics to look like this? Nah. But some!!!

I think this is pure genius.

Diving back in. I’m not the most diehard Adams fan in the world. There’s plenty I love but not everything. But this huge book is on balance excellent. I could do without some Superman and JLa stuff personally. But there’s a lot of Wrightson inks too! This cover is best as it’s in parts inside.
