It's just impossible to take the whole "indie games are so much more creative!" line seriously when the indie games that receive the greatest acclaim tend to be the ones that look like AAA games and not the ones that actually take creative risks.

Something that drives me nuts is that a popular bit of gaming discourse is how, "Oh, AAA games are so safe and bland, I support indie games because they're more creative and developed by teams with artistic vision!" But then we get creative, artistic indie games, and gamers don't actually buy them.
