It's not reasonable to expect any system to be 100% perfect. I mean, it's a solid goal that good designers strive for, but it's not a fatal flaw in a game if you find the odd situation not covered to your satisfaction in the rules as written.

Good golly, I missed some odd TTRPG discussions this week. Like, "rule of cool" being misunderstood is all well and good, but fundamentally if you want a specific play experience and the game/system you're running your game with doesn't do that, then that's a shortcoming or mismatch.

I am not an expert on plaherism checkers, but as someone doing multiple English classes I am familiar with them, have read a little bit into how they work, and litterally one of the first things a number of people will tell you is you still need to pay attention and look through the work yourself

I mean, it's not that hard to understand when you remember that another consistent theme of world of darkness is "while the greater whole can beat you down, you have the power to abuse others *very* easily." It's a throughline through most of the splats. Vampire is just where it's most obvious.

Ran feng shui first edition for the first time today. OK, learning experience, 30 Mooks in 1st edition is more dangerous than in 2nd edition. It's still easy to mow them down, but they are not *as* easy to hit as in 2nd edition(from my memory)

After putting it off for months, I finally watched The Coming of The Shadows, the 31st episode of Babylon 5. This episode reinforced my thesis that G'kar is a good man who believes he has to be evil, and Londo is a retired monster(well, active now) who is good at playing a good man.

It's not like DWD made Fandom sell Cortex to them. My WAG is that they wanted to capitalize on the success of DDB but with their own products that weren't hitched to D&D, but WotC likely already had internal plans in motion to try to buy DDB. WotC made Fandom an outstanding offer, and they took it.

They were. They had dedicated personnel for the development of the game, digital tools, and managing social media. They put together the actual plays (because Fandom also had a video production department). However, they were the ones who offloaded their TTRPG publishing arm after three years.
