First chance I've had to look at the data from Friday morning, but Comet Leonard (C/2025 A6) is developing really nicely: you can see the solar wind has disrupted the ion tail even though a small scope like my GT81. Should be a nice naked eye object in a few weeks. #astrophotography #CometWatch

Just a lonely old Moon tonight. Mars and hence the Comet C/2025 R2 (SWAN) were a no-show and the Nova near Alpha Centauri is a plain disappointment.

Around four hours ago, an M6.45 flare fired away from AR 4232, one of the strongest flares we have seen in weeks (maybe months?). This region harbors potential for further flare activity, with a small chance of an X-class flare. It's rotating into the Earth-strike zone, too!

Alright I went with the foreground I took with this shot. A car driving in front of me, 60 second exposure. The final version is a little darker and foreboding than the first one, but I think that fits the vibe of the shot more. Incredible psyched to be able to get this 33 miles from SF.
