From last night, here's the edge-on spiral galaxy known as NGC 891. It's in the constellation of Andromeda and about 30 million light years from our Milky Way Galaxy. NGC 898, another edge-on galaxy is near the lower right. It is 265 million light years away. 🔭

Let's unravel the mystery of Saturn's polar hexagon. A jet stream speeds around the pole at 320 km/h (200 mph). That’s common among planets, but what's not is that it oscillates up and down *very* stably. Each low point of this sine wave becomes a corner of a hexagon, when projected onto a sphere:

Dodging trees and the neighbor's lights I was able to spot Comet Lemmon in the evening sky just now using binoculars. It should be easier to see visually in the next few days as it gets both higher in the sky and closer to Earth.
