California – this Election Day, vote yes on Prop 50. California’s Prop 50 says that if Republicans are going to abuse the system to try and hang onto power, we’re going to counteract that abuse and create a level playing field in the midterm elections. Make a plan to vote yes on Prop 50.

Today marks 30 days of the Republicans’ shutdown. Now, 42 million Americans, including 3.5 million Texans, are at risk of losing access to SNAP. Enough with the games. It’s time for them to show up and do their damn jobs.

grocery stores have a 2% profit margin. for every $100 of groceries you buy they get to keep $2 in profit. if 12% of grocery store profits come from SNAP, what do you think happens to stores and prices when the US Govt starts withholding the money that’s already been set aside to feed people?

the US government is still collecting for SNAP from your paycheck they’re just, you know, keeping it instead of allocating it as it’s legally supposed to be allocated.

This is good, but when people talk about this I want to emphasize: we have not run out of money for SNAP. The money is there, it has been allotted and saved specifically for this instance. Trump refuses to release the billions of dollars that Americans have already allotted to continue food stamps!
