I think these reveal a fundamental misunderstanding of Vision Zero: -not everyone *can* look both ways. If it’s not safe for the vision impaired, it’s not a Vision Zero design -people are *going to* be distracted and make mistakes. Vision Zero designs have to accommodate that.

Is this Transit Security car part of what CHYM is paying for? It's rolling alongside my bus like an escort. Omg what if buses got flashing light escorts to get through traffic? Like they do for ambassadors and such. Working people who choose not to contribute to traffic are basically VIPs!

Full disclosure, I have never ridden on one of those rental scooters, but I swear they are part of the future of urban areas. The bus I'm on took 3 light cycles to go one block on Rosa Parks, same with the cars around us. But dozens of folks zipped past on scooters, taking up very little space.
