Once again: we are not special. There is not a single airport in the world that relies on a bespoke single lane car tunnel. Buses today, train tomorrow. If the proposed bespoke, narrow car tunnel precludes future rail on Murfreesboro then it should be blocked by MNAA.

HRM is running a "pedestrian safety is a shared responsibility" PSA, claiming pedestrians can and should make eye contact with drivers. This is an oft touted myth which is simply not usually possible.

A recent deal struck between Metro and TPAC is raising concerns about the update to and potential closure of the adjacent John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge.

it’s also important to note the parallel bike facilities on waterfront drive are pushed back even farther back to 2039 so the whole justification for not having bike facilities on EBB because there will be a parallel route in 15 years …

I watched multiple drivers run through this crossing on 5th while the flashing lights were engaged and people were trying to cross. But maybe the people weren't LOOKing properly. NDOT, are we still doing this? Just stop the victim-blaming already.

I appreciated the mayor's office response reaffirming their commitment to maintaining continuous access to the pedestrian bridge during construction (time point 29:00 - 31:15). This needs to be in writing in the agreement, as it was in the MOU.

Despite regular, high-profile pedestrian casualties in the area, the Downtown Partnership routinely advocates against these lifesaving safety improvements.
