Having watched Corman's The Pit and the Pendulum, it just made House of Usher feel that much more lackluster, because it does almost the same plot, but better! It feels like it takes a lot... Longer in getting there, but at least it gripped the attention more! Not looking forward to Premature Burial

Shame to hear about Corman. I found his Fall of the House of Usher suitable, yet boilerplate. It's one of those "it is almost too much an adaptation" stories, making it too long for itself, though the atmosphere is to be reveled in. A stunning Price performance though, he's always the gem.
