Saying “what happened to Alex Pretti was a tragedy but…” doesn’t make you any less of a terrible human being. What ICE did was unequivocally wrong.

Simply being an undocumented immigrant is not a crime. It’s a civil violation akin to getting a speeding ticket. However, there is an important difference. Speeding causes far more death and destruction in the United States than undocumented immigrants ever have or ever will.

The same people who spent today vilifying the victim to justify state-sponsored murder will fill churches tomorrow to worship an innocent man who was killed by the state and not a single one of them will see the irony or their hypocrisy.

New— An American citizen boarding flight from Boston to Lisbon just now told me after showing boarding pass, every passenger stopped on jetway by two ICE agents demanding to take their photo. When passenger asked why, ICE threatened to detain them. If they said no photo, couldn't board/TBD detained.
