Fredericton probably just needs to understand it’s more important for a dozen people who live outside the city to be able to trot their horses around an abandoned harness racing track than it is for 600 kids to have a new school. That’s an important life lesson about this city for those kids.

You know why we don’t have a useable pool in Fredericton? Because of exactly what’s going on with Exhibition Grounds and racetrack. We’re going to spend another four years taking laps around a question that’s been answered. Nobody wants to be the bad guy that makes tough decisions so we do nothing

Ask the incoming Mayor and the new Council whether they think a new middle school or a harness racing track is the best use of that land in the middle of the city. That’s the decision they are going to make when they punt the expropriation and negotiate for another four years.
