AusPATH has been a very intense conference but I’m very glad I attended, what an incredible group of researchers, advocates, practitioners and people with lived experience (categories not exclusive)!

I don’t think people outside of healthcare realize how much AAP is standing out as a moral backbone of medicine right now, especially in pediatrics. There is so much fear at institutions. Seeing an org directly and repeatedly targeted refuse to budge an inch is extraordinary.

I think in a lot of cases it is projected self-hatred. (Not saying they're closeted trans people. But I suspect most if not all have *some* deeply complicated feelings about gender that they don't want to admit or address, and this kind of overcompensation is how such feelings come out)
