Another one: if you care about the appearance of books after you read them (i.e. spine creases, folded pages etc) you're reading wrong. Its not about the aesthetics of the bookshelf, and even if it was it's cool to see which books you love and have read to death.

Describing books in terms of tropes is incredibly annoying and the opposite of helpful in trying to decide what to read. It's gotten bad enough I avoid any books marketed that way.
