I really dislike the "people pleasing" framing of self-abandonment because it makes it v easy to overcorrect into selfish behavior. It's good, actually, to be thoughtful and considerate of how your actions (even when appropriate and permissible) negatively affect other people.

Starting to read trans/rad/femme (by @taliabhatt.itch.io) with @illocutie.bsky.social. I'm quite sympathetic to the underlying goal, as is evident in my own work, but the preface of finding pre-transition comfort in radical feminism is deeply relatable.
