i will put this simply and briefly. Furries are a fandom. therians and otherkin are groups with actual, ingrained, nonhuman identities. furries do what they do for fun. therians do it because it more closely aligns with our sense of self. it's not hard if you're not being a disingenuous asshole.

I'm pretty sure that's where my wolf theriotype originally came from. Makes sense because it didn't truly present itself until a particular time in my life when all that rage from being a pushover boiled to the surface.
