A weird aspect of having older parents who were the youngest kids of older parents is trying to figure out what aspect of my life puts me out of step with my peers. Having WWII veterans for grandparents? Being raised in an old house like electricity was just invented yesterday?

While I respect night showerers, I cannot join you. I must bathe in the morning. One, my hair cannot recover from being slept on and needs to be washed every morning or it gets oily. Two, I sweat too much at night and I hate feeling unclean in the morning. I just wash my sheets a lot to compensate.

I recently bought a garlic press, and then I got a bag of peeled garlic from Aldi that I keep in the freezer. Now, any time I want garlic, I just need to squeeze a few cloves really hard, and I can put garlic in literally anything. I don't have to dice the garlic! My life has improved so much!

I saw a lady respond to a random video on Facebook, and out of context brought up that her husband was the Batman to her Harley. All the responses were "but Batman never dated Harley?" and "do you mean he's your Joker?? Which is worse?" Sometimes, nerds being combative online are good, actually.

I'm trying to be like, a good, active social media person, but this last week has just kicked my ass. The weather shifting and my hormones got me out here smelling colors, it feels like. I'm going to have a few weeks in May where I have to cut back on pages due to scheduled events, and that'll help.

“People need to be nicer to each other online” and “people need to develop thicker skin because it’s not normal or healthy to get upset at everything you don’t agree with” are two statements than can and should coexist actually

I'm rereading Chapter 11 because I needed to fact check a few things for this chapter, and I was having an absolute blast writing at this point. (Not that I'm not now, but I was in peak form.) I also had a really good time writing Charlene being constantly accosted by overly friendly Midwesterners 😭
