It's actually good and normal to feel awful and shocked about this. Now extend those bad feelings to victims of police violence everywhere.

stop. if you think the existence of a warrant is part of the conversation in any way, you cannot, by definition, argue that it makes any difference whether the guy they killed had a warrant or not. because right guy or wrong guy, an arrest warrant isn't a death sentence.

Joan Sebastian Guerrero is the name of the victim of the fatal ICE shooting in Maine. he was 26 year old man from Colombia. his car was surrounded by ICE after he “drove toward them” (the car was rolling and he turned immediately) and tried to flee. an ICE agent shot him in the face and killed him

You can and should point out that police killing people daily is the "norm" in America. But that doesn't mean you *accept* the normalization of this violence and the way some people rush to smugly point these things out contributes to collective fatigue. Your horror has been stolen from you.

there's no "just let ICE go after the 'bad ones'" there are no good immigrants/bad immigrants. there are no acceptable targets, no justifiable victims of state violence. I do not accept the starting position of fascism. I will not compromise when the stakes are someone else's life or freedom.

ICE and/or police murdered someone this morning in Biddeford, Maine. From the statements I’ve seen from local activists, I *think* the victim was a young Black man. You may already know Black immigrants are the largest non-white immigrant demo in Maine. A protest is already under way.

All of this is to say that you absolutely can judge Lindsey Graham by his voting record, his comments, the kind of government and society that he helped enable through his actions. On this view, the man’s way of being in the world was absolutely deserving of all our condemnation.

My condolences to Lindsey Graham's family. I have nothing positive to say for the man himself. It is impossible to know how many lives Graham had a hand in ruining or ending. Far too many. Graham's death is a reminder to spend the time you have here loving others and doing good. He didn't.

The Democratic Party's approval rating is in the toilet, and the main reason is voters see Dem leaders and prominent members acting like things are basically okay instead of fighting like there's an emergency. Slot "my friend Lindsey Graham, so funny, how great to work with him" comments into that.
