That is just plainly not true. Your budget slashed help for people who buy Affordable Care Act plans. That's 22 million Americans whose premiums are going up - RIGHT NOW - by double digits directly because of a policy you passed.

It’s really hard to find a therapist who can counsel people with actual real threat scenarios, like this one. For example, I don’t think I have “haters”. I have actual coordinated attacks on my safety and wellbeing, sir or ma’am. Same with political conflicts like these.

I can't bring myself to relisten to this cos I think I am too cringe but fwiw I *think* it's in this podcast I say something very similar to what Coates is saying here. As I've gone on I've more and more come to think that it's actually functional and important that I be astrategic in a certain way.

The entire piece is worth a read. "The evidence suggests that compromising on basic humanity doesn’t broaden coalitions; it hollows them out. The work now is to find ways to expand our reach without abandoning our foundation—to bridge gaps, yes, but never at the expense of our neighbor’s humanity."

Absolutely. That’s how the media covers everything right now. The aggressors are people The victims are sad collateral. The current administration and most of research is guided by people who share that model

Every major Democrat has millions in their campaign account. The threat to democracy is big enough that we need to be funding mobilization and messaging right now - not just banking money for the next election. If we don't build right now, there might not be another election.

I hope many users see this. That your help matters. That in spite of insurmountable obstacles, Mai was able to make great strides in saving her & her children’s lives. Her ingenuity, faith & strength did this to be sure. But your help mattered. We could be seeing many more successes such as this.

florida successfully votes for a reform that re-enfranchises voting rights for former felons, the government goes "nope, fuck that", and on top of that puts in effectively a poll tax that is blatantly unconstitutional. the checks and balances here would be feds stepping in - and they did nothing!
