Trump and Republicans keep telling working families there's no money for childcare, education, or healthcare. But somehow there's money for a $600 million ballroom, a UFC cage match, and tax breaks for billionaires.

When we show up, we win. The people showed up today and our representation is safe—for now. We can never stop fighting but this is a massive victory for the people of Georgia.

When I head to Washington, I will be the first woman in Congress with a science PhD. That matters. At a time when science is under attack, Congress needs more leaders who understand the value of evidence-based decision-making.

HBCUs have been underfunded for generations, yet they continue to produce leaders, innovators, and changemakers. In Congress, I'll fight to strengthen HBCUs, protect their funding, and invest in their future.

Yesterday members of the Gwinnett delegation joined the Gwinnett Youth Commission for a networking lunch and conversation. What an amazing group of youth from across the county! The future looks bright.

As a scientist, I follow the facts, trust evidence, and solve problems. Washington has enough pseudo-scientists. I’m ready to start working on policy grounded in facts.

The House finally passed the War Powers Resolution. I hope the Senate moves quickly to do the same. The cost of this war is being felt here at home, too, with gas prices projected to reach $4.10 a gallon in Georgia. Working families can’t afford more instability.

Thank you Dr. Bolsen for inviting my colleagues and me to speak at the Zoukis Summer Institute at GSU this week. I truly enjoyed engaging with the students on criminal justice reform and other policies. I have a feeling there were some future elected officials in that room!

Along with attacking the voting power of black voters, Brian Kemp just cut money for hungry children, foster care, and homeless veterans to pay for Republican tax cuts for the wealthiest Georgians. We can’t take our eye off the ball.

Today, I stood in solidarity with my colleagues in the GA Legislative Black Caucus and Chris Bruce of ACLU of GA to let Gov. Kemp know that we will not go down without a fight in this redistricting process. His legacy will be ushering in Jim Crow era tactics on his way out.

As a mom, my biggest fear is getting a robocall from my daughter’s school saying there’s an active shooter. Common-sense gun laws shouldn’t be controversial, and I’ll take this fight head-on in Congress.

When Republicans can't win, they change the rules of the game. Gov. Kemp is calling us in for a special session so Republicans can redraw the lines and eliminate Black representatives and all of the gains we've made since the Civil Rights Movement.

Investing in scientific research means more time. It gave me more time with my dad before he passed from prostate cancer. When they cut science funding, it directly harms our communities. That’s why I’m running to bring a science voice to D.C.

Healthcare! Not bombs. Not ballrooms. HEALTHCARE!
