It truly is incredible how community and humanity immediately thrive as soon as cars are removed from public space.

I feel the same way. I am here again just to have a little breakfast and work. 9:30 in the morning doesn’t feel like this usually. I don’t feel like I have to just get in and get what I need and leave.

How lovely would this be, if every neighborhood had at least one street like this

Having the square blocked off to cars has been even nicer than I expected. Would be such a gift to the neighborhood and city to make this permanent.

I walked through here tonight en route to some errands and I was smiling the whole time. It was so pleasant, no honking, no traffic, no one disobeying the stop sign at the end of the street. I'd love if this became permanent.

Joking aside, top down leadership is what is required here. Enough polling, enough with yielding to preconceptions of small business owners. Lead.

I want this in my neighborhood so bad! We have a park but I wish we had safer streets to bike on.

Also I go to therapy a block from here and it hasn’t been any harder to park, so it seems like the neighborhood can absorb it just fine

I have met more of my neighbors in the past 3 days than I have in the past 2 years of living in Lincoln Square and it's all thanks to a temporary road closure, some benches, and chalk. We need to get cars off our streets, ASAP.

This feels special to me. I don’t know how else to say it. Lincoln Square is standing on the precipice of something great. I hope the right people realize it.
