How to best estimate Bayes factors for standard hypothesis tests? We compared bridge sampling and the Savage-Dickey density ratio. The latter does a good job in most constellations typical for experiments in cognitive psychology.

This nonsense claim from this paper is making rounds on Twitter, claiming fertility & gender (in)equality correlated at .81. But the Gender Inequality Index includes adolescent fertility as part of the measure! When you rebuild the index without circular reproductive outcomes correlation cut in half

I think the same exact study conducted today, giving researchers in the AI-assisted and AI-led treatment arms access to even “just” Claude Code Pro, would produce vastly different results. (2/4)

5/ AI-led teams were a different story. They reproduced only 37% of assigned results and took much longer when they did succeed. The gap was not small: average time to reproduction was about 82 minutes for human-only teams, 93 for AI-assisted teams, and 180 for AI-led teams.

1/ Can AI help researchers check whether published social science results actually reproduce? In our new PNAS paper, we tested this directly in the AI Replication Games: 288 researchers, 103 teams, and real replication packages from quantitative social science.
