This just in (my email an hour ago): An academia[.]com supported platform is inviting my submissions in microbiology and translational immunology. I am a psychologist. Just in case someone thought that website has some credibility. It doesn't.

Just to add to the discourse: academia dot edu is a garbage website that adds no value. I deleted my account a decade ago and never once even remotely regretted it. You can get the same experience but better elsewhere.

Open Terms Archive[1] is a pretty cool service: They track, scrape, and store all versions of online platforms' ToS and privacy policies and make them publicly available. Might be pretty interesting to use e.g. in longitudinal studies to track platform changes. [1]: opentermsarchive.org/en/

Experimentology is out today!!! A group of us wrote a free online textbook for experimental methods, available at experimentology.io - the idea was to integrate open science into all aspects of the experimental workflow from planning to design, analysis, and writing.

SIPS2025 has been great so far. Beautiful locations, excellent sessions... Thanks to all the organizers! More sessions today, then a boat cruise on the Danube, and tomorrow we tackle publication reform!

The new MacOS 26 "Tahoe" makes everything round. The windows, the buttons, even PDF documents... Could have skipped the last one at least imho.

Readings preprints and the page seemed a bit sluggish, so I compared three preprint providers. Here's how long it took for each to load (FCP): ArXiv (~3 seconds), bioRxiv (~3 seconds), PsyArXiv (~20 seconds). Not sure if this can be improved on but would be nice.
