It is not rocket science that developers who are paid/treated well and given creative control make better games. The people up top literally just don't care: they want their money for themselves.

They can't say it out loud because the answer to how AI is making games faster/better to develop is "we don't have to pay as many wages." But Anna, "AI is just making workers more productive." So are those workers getting a raise? No. Are they continuing to staff up? No. Are the game worse? Yes.
