Defund ICE, then defund the police. That is the demand and we have to stop crumbling and accepting less.

I have two pitbulls & most of my day is spending being knocked over by my angel dog who never does anything wrong but has no spatial awareness (usually when I have hot tea in my hands) & wondering how & when my chaotic gremlin dog learned to juggle lit sticks of dynamite while riding a unicycle

Maryland has, for now, stopped ICE from converting a warehouse designed to hold commercial products into a warehouse used to hold people. Similar lawsuits have been filed against ICE's warehouse detention camp plans in New Jersey and Michigan.

Black folk in the US are still angry over what many of us see as multiple betrayals. People focus on Harris, Booker, and Jeffries. Yes, sure. But look at Bowman, Bush, and now Crockett. Al Green, censured twice. Black SES & life metrics, cratering. Silence re: Ed Blum & AA attacks. We all we got.

Today, a lot of people will be talking about the manifesto that Palantir released. In addition to pouring over what those words mean, I invite you to ground the conversation in what Palantir has already done. Its work with Israel and ICE show us exactly what it stands for.

There are a lot of points in this manifesto you can point to and say “This here is the sign.” But this right here, this is THE SIGN that these fuckers are just openly fascist and imperialist.

Today, there are a number of mobilizations happening across the world in solidarity with the people in Lebanon. Here are some photos from the vigil in Washington, DC. The group is calling for a permanent ceasefire, an arms embargo, and accountability for war crimes.

As Giorgio Agamben wrote, the whole point of concentration camps and similar is that they are a zone where law does not operate (more precisely, where inmates are stripped of all legal protection and are “outside” society.)

A worker died in a Amazon warehouse in Oregon. For more than an hour the workers in the facility were ordered to continue working as the man lay dead. One worker tried to help, but a manager told him “Just turn around and not look. Let’s get back to work.“ EVIL.

I have a small favor to ask. I am wrapping up season 3 of my history podcast & gathering materials for season 4 which will be about the three Anglo-Afghan wars. I would love to use resources written within the last five to seven years & uplift Afghan voices/provide an Afghan perspective on the wars.

Reuters says Tisza has at least 135 seats: 133 is the constitutional supermajority! Live by highly disproportional electoral systems (which Orbán made even more disproportional with the extra compensation votes awarded to winners), die by highly disproportional electoral systems.

Stopping myself from normalising Israeli horrors is an endless process. When they bombed my hometown, I thought: only this many people died at least they didn’t take down an entire building at least they’re not annihilating my entire hometown like they’re doing in the south This isn’t normal
