The “Blue Labour” strategy still being promoted by some on Labour right is premised on being able to win social conservatives while holding on to social liberals. Failure state for this strategy is failing to win social cons while alienating social liberals. Here is a map of that failure state:

It's quite something to see politicians like Luke Akehurst (for whom politics is their job and entire life) and political journalists like Tim Shipman (for whom politics is their job and entire life) unable to do the most basic forms of political analysis, simply because it shatters their worldview.

I caught this in London a few days ago (Reading screening was cancelled, venue issues) and I'm so glad I made the effort, and to BFI staff being flexible incredibly powerful but also joyful (I wept, in bits, thinking of the ongoing legacy of exclusion on another continent too) the use of voices…

Been enjoying @righttoroam.bsky.social posts on IG and so often the replies are: “So can we just rock up at your property whenever we want?” I pointed out my friends at R2R don’t own land. If they did, they’d open it up. Also are homes and giant woodlands the same in any way at all? 🙃 Muppets.
