There’s a video I saw recently interviewing a guy at a Minnesota protest where the interviewer starts to ask “are you worried this could take us to a dark pla—“ and the guy explodes, “we’re already in the dark place! Look around! They’re murdering us! We’re already here!”

I’m seeing posts from people (outside of MN) about how US citizens should carry their passports. And let me say that *inside* MN, we are calmly responding to requests with: “No, I don’t have to show you any documentation.” Because that’s how you protect everyone, regardless of immigration status.

i think this gets at something important which is that normal people are rightly pissed off that they’re having normal time stolen from them by this ravaging horde of jumped up mall cops. everybody has to work in the morning! why is it THEIR job to hold their community together in such a basic way!

One of the video clips from MN that I saw last night was a “regular guy” trying to get home from work without being stopped by ICE becoming infuriated at the implication that he and his neighbors were being paid to be shot at.

What is the economic ROI on transit? I've only ever read how it operates at a deficit but so do childcare subsidies but the models show there's a ROI there of $2.50 for every $1 spent. Thinking about this as my kid wants to move to "a city" literally because of transit & he can't be alone there.
