Not enough people are talking about this. A Florida airport was renamed after Donald Trump. He walked away with the trademark, the licensing rights, and a deal that lets him profit off every piece of merchandise sold there.

With shots fired near the White House, Trump and his cult will insist we need to build a billion-dollar ballroom/bunker to protect the precious president. A cheaper option, of course, would be to remove the president these people keep trying to kill and replace him with one who's not so hated.

The “we don’t have the votes” excuse for refusing to force a vote on impeachment is conceding the point and saying even the opposition party doesn’t think this high crime merits removal from office. It’s not being politically astute and pragmatic, it’s self-defeating in its cowardice.

Hard to see so many basic rights being dismantled and not view the Biden interregnum as a total failure. His presidency was premised on restoring institutions and stability, and so many of the wins achieved have already been undone by Trump (as well as 50+ years of progress).

Biden's presidency and the aftermath we're living through should be enough to destroy the "let's the turn page, let's look forward, let's move on" mantra that has animated centrist Democrats for decades now. Accountability matters. There has to be a reckoning.

The alternative to court packing isn't that the rogue SCOTUS gets to keep its power in perpetuity. It's that eventually institutions (presidents, Congress, states) start openly defying them, successfully, because they have the American people on their side. That is not a better rule-of-law outcome.
