Uplifting science cat story! 6 years ago I adopted a cat and accidentally adopted her kitten. The kitten it turned out had a VEEY BAD EYE (as my vet friend said). She was likely to lose the eye, but one of the vets at the practice has read AN ACTUAL SCIENCE ARTICLE.

This is a heartbreaking and beautifully written piece. @sturdyalex.bsky.social is definitely worth following if you don’t already. He is one of the people I have on my list of “people who could deliver very bad news but I wouldn’t feel so bad about it” and there isn’t a much higher honour.

Do watch “How to die alone” which is on Disney Plus in the UK at least. It’s funny and sad and marvelous, but Hulu has not commissioned a 2nd series. So give Natasha Rothwell all the love and she might get someone to take it forward.
