It sure seems like "well those people may have later trafficked drugs again" would also justify executing prisoners and wounded men *in general.*

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey: The Somali community is almost universally American citizens. They're part of our family here in Minneapolis. To just go after a whole community indiscriminately, it's unconstitutional. It's flat out un-American. I guess that's what we've become accustomed to with Trump

There is a temptation is to describe what happened yesterday as somehow a “new low.” But it’s not a new low. It’s the same old low. A scene we’ve seen repeated so often there is a kind of numbness to it.

As an R strategist, you'd probably feel better about a 16-point D shift in a special election with 60% of midterm turnout than a 12-point shift with 100% of midterm turnout.

The official policy of the Trump Administration is ignorant bigotry. We’re asked, under principles including charity, to assume that people support the administration despite that policy, not specifically because of it. I am increasingly unwilling to extend that charity.

Mark Kelly says Pete Hegseth's reported double tap strike on a boat "seems to" be a war crime, and adds, "if what has been reported is accurate, I've got serious concerns about anybody in that chain of command stepping over a line that they should never step over. There are specific reasons Trumpists want war on Venezuela, but there‘s a generic one: they crave power to make war on anyone, any time, for completely fabricated reasons, and then to use the guise of war to increase violence and repression everywhere, including home. They are lawless bestial scum.

Also recognize that this unambiguous use of the military to commit murder of helpless noncombatants as they fought for life is a direct reflection of the virulent white supremacy that has seized our government, where every Latino man is a gangbanger in a de facto state of war against White America

Legality and (un)popularity of this action aside, how many people is this war going to kill? 1,000? 10,000? 100,000? Do these people even care? How much cheaper does gas need to be for 100,000 senseless deaths to be worthwhile?

Oddly enough, in media coverage of Dems' video warning against carrying out illegal orders, there's very little discussion of *whether it's actually reasonable to fear Trump is giving illegal commands or not.* The evidence is strong that he is. Media should say so:
