The act of tearing people away from their families and communities is actually incredibly violent in itself

Training will never address the violence at the heart of policing. ICE is policing. The abolition of organized state violence is a fundamental necessity for any emancipatory path forward.

With so many of us watching the tremendous mobilizations in Minneapolis, culminating in the call to action against ICE today, I wanted to share some of what I have gathered from talking to comrades in Minneapolis over the past few weeks. A few things stood out:

it doesn't matter whether or not the "Board of Peace" is with or without Palestinians. it is an entrenchment of settler colonial occupation built atop an ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people and shouldn't be given a shred of legitimacy by suggesting that inclusion would make it acceptable.

Yesterday, Minneapolis gave us hope. That’s what they’re trying to kill: the will of a people who are willing to fight them.

Conflicting info about whether Pretti was murdered by ICE or CBP makes it clear that ICE is not single "rogue agency" ICE, CBP and ALL policing & borders must be abolished. This isn't just one agency; its an entire infrastructure of carceral control, illegalization & criminalization, and fascism.

Yall outside of MN need to know that observers are STILL out protecting their neighbors. Right now. They know the news and they’re still out there.
