I have been saying this when I call my reps to yell at them. Now I can say "As Justice Sotomayor says..." Call your reps and demand they call for the release of Mahmoud Khalil and all of the other detained students as well as the folks sent to the concentration camp in El Salvador.

The message is: crowd large. Many politicians, administrators, and business leaders, in bowing to Trump, have drawn confidence and comfort from the perceived vibe shift. Events like this puncture that delusion.

You can stop asking where the mass opposition is. It's everywhere.
People poured out to protest not only what Trump has done—and what they fear he will do next.

In 2024, four women held four-star ranks in the military — the highest levels of the armed forces. Only 10 women have held the highest rank in their military branches in history. Now, there are none. Of the four women, two of them retired and two were ousted.

The richest man in the world spent more money than most of us will see in our lifetimes to lose a state Supreme Court race by 10 points. And the fact his $25 million was a drop in the bucket compared to what he's spent on other elections is exactly why we must overturn Citizens United.

Again, nobody is forcing them to put tariffs on bananas, coffee, avocados, or any of the hundreds food/minerals/materials that literally can't be obtained in the US. They could write exemptions for any or all of them. Instead they press the "make groceries more expensive" button.

11/ The tariffs aren’t economic policy. They are political weapons. But as long as we see this clearly, we can stop him. Public mobilization is working. Today, a few Republicans joined Democrats to vote against one set of tariffs. The people still have the power.

7/ But the private sector also plays a rule to protect democracy. Independent industry has power. The tariffs are Trump’s tool to erode that independence. Now, one by one, every industry or company will need to pledge loyalty to Trump in order to get sanctions relief.
