Cartoonist & illustrator Charles Allen (June 23, 1921-June 8, 1999) drew the comic strip “Tan Topics” in the 1940s & for magazines such as Collier's. He also taught at the School of Industrial Art in Manhattan (later High School of Art & Design). His students included Neal Adams & Art Spiegelman.

Madeleine Parent spent her life helping others. A union leader in Quebec, she was vilified by the provincial government who tried to jail her several times. Later in life, she focused on women's rights. This is her amazing story. 📸Aziz George Nakash 🧵 1/12

Latest read, Gormenghast (1950) by Mervyn Peake. Titus Groan grows up and confronts the Machiavellian villain Steerpike. I've read the first book, Titus Groan twice, but have not read the second until now. Wow. Just superb. Fantasy prose at its highest level. #BookSky

On this day in 1965, James Collip died. Born in 1892 in Belleville, Ontario, he was part of the group (with Sir Frederick Banting, Charles Best and John MacLeod) that isolated insulin for use in treating diabetes. MacLeod shared his Nobel prize money with Collip. 📸 U of A

Sir Reginald, the Gentleman Cthulhu. The 19th and final watercolour painting in this Lightwish 100% cotton hardcover book. There's a 20th sheet but it's bound to the endpaper so I figured I'd leave it for a drawing if I sell the whole book as-is.
