I'll be leaning into a weekly newsletter as social media is less effective delivering info to the the people who want it. I just sent out one today. I won't be abusing anyone's inbox - just one email a week. If you want to know about projects, art sales, and cool stuff

Trump says they're in control of Venezuela now, but, how? Is this more of his dementia or is his staff telling them the threat of bombing and kidnapping is enough to dictate everything there?

I've been saying this since 2024. The whole thread is worthwhile, but the thing people need to know is Russia is a phantom power increasingly dependant on China, who doesn't really want or see value in the Ukraine war

Reminder that years ago it was found out that the FBI straight up made up a whole bunch of fake forensic sciences, plural. People have gone to jail and been executed due to literally pseudoscience. Hair forensics, for instance, is totally nonsense. They admitted it.

I have to think no one in 2106 will be interested in the biopic about the digital entity as they made disposable music with ChatGPT or Suno. Capitalism and fascism hates artists more than any other group even as they do everything they can to exploit them

Not sure why, but the short-lived KEVIN CAN F**K HIMSELF came to mind today. Great series, but so dark. Maybe it's because conservatives are Kevins to everyone who has hopes and dreams for a better future. Selfishly destroying everything while gaslighting they're doing what's best for everyone

Zero tolerance is the ONLY and FITTING response to genAI being used in production of media. Sure, you might think it's too harsh. Sure, they might've only used it for early stuff in development, etc Listen, it's not even a SLIPPERY slope, there is NO friction at all unless we speak out against it.

For those that don't know: bsky does have an "algorithm" but it's primarily for the Discovery feed. Grab some user created Feeds to mix it up, but be aware that a lot of posts outside Discovery tend to be shown primarily based on time of post. So both liking and reposting will help artists.

DELIVER ME FROM NOWHERE is now streaming, and I'm rewatching it more from just having revisited the far superior COMPLETE UNKNOWN last night than it being good enough to rewatch this soon. The biggest difference is how much DMFN tells the audience everything vs. CU expecting us to figure it out. 1/2

In short, using AI in your writing is among the dumbest things you can do as a writer as it exposes you to potential legal action while affording you zero legal protections. AI is a nightmare box for idiots. Don't fall into the trap of shortcutting your writing career.

The gross misunderstanding of copyright shown by people using A.I. in any capacity in creative work should immediately get every other pro and publisher to stay away from the user like that level of stupid is contagious.
