Saw the cornea specialist. Nothing wrong there. Beginnings of some cataracts but nothing to worry about for a few years. Suggested contact lenses. Haven't worn them since my 20s in the 1990s. Too much faff but if they can correct my terrible sight I've got no choice.

A friends just towed MrK's car to the garage. MrK turned on the engine to turn it around. Managed a 2 point turn before the engine started smoking and gave out. Not looking very hopeful.
