The NY mayoral election shouldn't really be a referendum on anything national, but I can't help but see it that way when the choice is this existential or this stark: a guy who stands for the idea that politics can still help people vs a guy who stands for nothing but power and no one but himself

So much of this can be solved with “wow is that about you in any way? No? Cool. Mind your own fucking business.” This what the conservative people I grew up around claimed to want: for the government to leave everyone alone to live their lives.
