Waiting on the cake to cool. I suspect I should have reduced the puree even more than I did, but I’m sure it’s fine. But the strawberry cream cheese frosting is amazing. It’s made with pulverized freeze dried strawberries. Worth making even for vanilla cupcakes or something.

His need for control, to be superior, to be the strongest doesn’t stem from no where. A big part of it stems from him being denied autonomy bc of who he was at the time period he lived in. He is in a cycle of abuse.—

(That’s not to say Lucifer is racist btw, pls don’t attack me) Now does all this mean that Alastor is secretly a misunderstood antihero activist? No, absolutely not. He’s doing this for control, to be superior, for fun, and guess what? His race STILL matters bc THATS where these reasons stem from.—

The person he hates the most in this show as of rn is Lucifer. Who is Lucifer? THE white man in hell. The rich and ultra powerful arrogant being who looks down on sinners as a whole(his own form of bigotry) and insults Alastor and basically calls him the help any chance he gets—

Then when he gets to hell, he goes after Overlords specifically and that becomes what he’s most known for. The two ppl we KNOW he owns the souls of are also Overlords. This is not a justification ofc, but it is clearly a pattern of his.—

Even with his success, he still dealt with disrespect and we see him kill a man that’s implied as being racist towards him. He then makes a deal with Rosie to “secure himself” in hell.—

Race is ABSOLUTELY a big part of Alastor’s character and pretending otherwise is just willful ignorance. He’s was a visibly mixed black man from the Jim Crow south who had to overcome a lot to get the success he had. They literally acknowledge this.—

I remember seeing people say horrible things about MLP and SU for no other reason than to be mean to fans and towards the creators. Idc whose mad and I will stand, shout and die on the hill that the hate stems from homophobia and misogyny towards queer female creators.

I remember that too. People trying to justify the slurs, insults and threats with “but the fandom has done XYZ so it’s no wonder people hate MLP” as if that’s a valid reason to bully random fans online.

The same losers who whine and lie that “TADC is sexist because Ragatha didn’t get enough screentime” are the same losers who called Gangle “a bitch” for finally standing up Jax and complain that “Pomni doesn’t get traumatized enough.”

I grew up seeing Rebecca attacked personally for the art they made. And they were by all means “professional”, it didn’t stop the harassment. It’s gross how long this has been happening. Rebecca is so truly strong and I admire them. It’s weird to have seen it and now be living it.

My harassment started all the way back with ZP, but I never imagined I’d get the equivalent of “SU is garbage and here’s why” yt videos 10 years later. 😂 I just have to laugh cuz it’s so transparent. Criticism can be done with fairness and respect, but that’s so rare nowadays.

Media analysis and well intentioned and constructive criticism video essays for film/narrative are content I sometimes consume. As a critical person I think it’s important. People really hate me because I refuse to accept the bad faith bs people consider valid criticism now. lol

I think being a critical person it’s harder to get really bad faith and absolutist criticism because I want to counter it critically. Which is how I know all these people would probably spontaneously combust if they got a fraction of what I get on the daily lol. Can dish but can’t take -ever.
