Those of us who emailed to complain to Kent libraries have started receiving replies today which double down on the commitment to ensure that no children will be EXPOSED to trans adult literature. Because trans, like all moral panics, is a contagion.

Did you know that although Section 28 was repealed in 2003, Kent County Council was the only council in England which voted to uphold their own version of section 28 all the way up until 2010. Way before Reform existed.

A friend who was out as a gay man during Section 28 was telling me the advice he used to give to straight allies asking how they could help back then: stand in solidarity with us so that some of the shit they’re throwing at us sticks to you. If you’re clean, you’re not standing close enough.

RIP Mark Pawson. Mark was a Small Publishers Fair cornerstone and a regular at zine and small press fairs around the world. A prolific and brilliant maker, Mark was also a collector and hugely knowledgeable about the rich world in which he worked. We will miss him. markpawson.uk
